We've got you Covid Phase 2
Nestled atop the hills of Umkhambatini, a rural village with beautiful scenery lies Maqongqo village. Residents fetch water from a murky stream approximately 7km away downhill. The trudge back up is arduous and excruciating. Not every household has a fit, young person to do this, many are frail, weak, elderly women. Right on the top is ward 1 where the existing Jojo tanks are shared by residents. They purchase river water to fill these tanks which are not suitable for drinking.
Muslimahs Making a Difference has embarked on a project to provide the residents immediately with clean drinking water, to have the Jojo tanks filled with water for household use, as well as work with the relevant organizations to supply the correct infrastructure for long term sustainability. As we are all aware, during the lockdown period, this is virtually impossible, hence the best we can do is to supply the water.
The Messenger of Allah (SAW) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “Providing water”’. [Abu Dawud] Giving water is a basic human right and fulfilling this right is an excellent Sadaqah-e-Jaariyah. Communities who don’t have access to clean water face unimaginable hardships; their health, education and livelihoods suffer, trapping each generation in a tragic cycle of poverty. We are appealing to you to open your hearts and donate generously. We make dua that Allah SWT opens people's hearts to provide these people with clean drinking water and be the means of making them all from unfortunate to fortunate, Ameen.🤲🏼
Make a Difference today.
